Julia Booth, a descendant of Maher’s, has produced a book, Blanche Violet Maher : Landscapes & Portraits, 1894 to 1920, of her relative’s work. A limited edition run, copies of the book can be found in antiquarian bookshops. It’s well worth acquiring if you can. Photoria

Gulgong Amateur Photographic Association. The First Exhibition. The Australasian Photographic Review, 21 August, 1900, pg 23, TROVE. Maher was awarded 2nd place in two categories. The first was Subject Illustrative of Difficulties, in which her sister, Marguerite was awarded First Place. The second was Seascape and Clouds in which Maher was placed second to J McPhee from Mudgee.
